SMOKE002

Active deep in the port of Rotterdam, where the creative mind behind Smokescreen and Smoke002 spends most of his hours, is what this cover reflects.

The shapes created from a diagonal grid reflect the complex docks and cranes, screen-printed rust patterns, and grooves that represent the ridges of the thousands of containers and the grid system for stacking them.

The rust effect is made analog by using Copic markers on thin paper. The bleeding through to the paper underneath creates these rusty grooves. The bled-through paper was scanned and inverted to make screen printing possible.
